Setting up your shipping rates in Shopify is really easy, all you need to do in a few simple steps is create a "Private App" in Shopify that can communicate with OpenFreight.

Before you can do this, you must have real-time shipping rates (also refered as third-party calculated shipping rates) enabled on your account. It is included by default on some plans and scenarios, but you must contact Shopify support to confirm this feature is activated on your Shopify account.

Once this is done, contact us requesting this to be setup, providing us with the details in the last step and we will set this up within 24 hours.

Step 1. Inside Shopify admin, go to "Apps" and click "View Private Apps".

Step 2. Click on "Generate API credentials".

Step 3. Type in "OpenFreight" as private app name and "[email protected]" as Contact email then select "Shipping Rates" and make sure OpenFreight will have "Read and write" access. Click Save.

Step 4. Once you have saved OpenFreight as a private app, please copy and paste the details highlighted in the red box (API key, password, Shared secret, etc) and send them with the request to your account manager.

From here we will create new shipping service called OpenFreight and your existing carrier rates in OpenFreight will be available in addition to any other shipping methods already setup in Shopify.
